Yellowstoneis soon ending with part 2 of season 5 which is expected to premiere sometime this year. It has been announced that afollow-up showcalled2024is in development with Matthew McConaughey possibly starring as the lead. Taylor Sheridan spoke toThe Hollywood Reporterabout McConaughey’s response toYellowstoneand how he is a natural fit for the follow-up show.

Sheridan stated that he and McConaughey had been talking for many years and had brainstormed many ideas for a collaboration between them. He seems like a natural fit. We had a few conversations over the years and spitballed a few ideas. Then he started watching Yellowstone and responded to it. He was like, ‘I want to do that.’ And by ‘that’ he meant diving into a raw world clashing up against the modern world. And then I said, ‘Buddy, that we can do.’
