From Gear 5 to the live-action series, it is one win after another for the mangaka.
The entire cast of the Netflix series is carefully picked, and in the eyes of the audience, as well as the author, they are nothing but perfection. In theOne Piecepanel forWeebCon Texas 2024,Taz Skylar,Emily Rudd, and Jacob Romero got together alongside Steven John Ward. In the panel, Skylar was asked about who he felt was his anime ‘waifu’. Typically, a waifu is an anime character, mostly female, whom a fan would want romantic affiliations with.
“I’m so glad you asked! Emily Rudd, will you be my anime waifu?”
Taz Skylar did not think twice before jumping with an answer. He immediately got off his chair and bent down on one knee, glancing at Emily Rudd. Rudd very famously played the role of Nami, a character who is already big in the eyes of fans. On top of that,Skylar and her share a friendship worth fawning over. So in classic Sanji fashion, he asked her to be his anime waifu.

As a response, Rudd looked flustered. She too jumped off her chair, wondering whether to flee out of the sudden change of events or not. Unfortunately for him, though, she also rejected his proposal right then and there.
Taz Skylar is the Perfect Sanji
Taz Skylar’s charming behavior at WeebCon Texas 2024 is solid proof of why he is the perfect casting for Sanji. In Eiichiro Oda’sOne Piece,Sanji is known to be obsessed with Nami, something both Skylar and he seem to share. However, he chooses not to make it creepy; instead turning it into the perfect heartwarming moment for the pair.
Hevery gracefully embodies Sanjiin a way that makes the character both likable and charming at the same time. While he still holds his obsession with Nami, it is not pushed past the boundaries set by the live-action series.

Skylar brings out his best, going above and beyond to portray not only Sanji in the best possible way but also make it so that no one else could do it better than him.
