There’s no doubt that Konami’sMetal Gear Solidis one of the most beloved video game series of all time. Its five mainline entries, along with its several spin-offs and other related projects, have brought gamers a world that’s packed to the brim with action.

However, Konami isn’t done with the franchise yet! The developers recently held a surpriseMetal Gear– Hotline Production episode, revealing details on the upcoming remake calledMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater! From the first look, the game looks promising, but unfortunately, Konami still hasn’t fixed a fundamental flaw.

If you’ve ever played any of the originalMetal Gear Solidgames, you’ll instantly be familiar with this UI. Of course, it’s a slightly updated version, but it still carries the core problem of being clunky. When you’re engaged in action, switching between menus just to change your camo can prove to be quite a tedious process.
I don’t know how I feel about camo changing still being done through a menu. It completely breaks the pacing and was something I was really hoping they’d change.

Many in the community were hoping that Konami would address this particular fundamental flaw of the original games inMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, but that’s not the case.
Yikes I was hoping they’d update the controls so you could change camos on the fly in-game rather than going through a gajillion menus

With the game lacking such basic quality-of-life features, some players are already suspicious of Konami and don’t want to fall into the trap of pre-ordering a game that could end up being a disappointment.
All we need now is the release date. I’m not pre ordering this until there’s an actual release date.

SinceMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eateris a remake, it’s understandable that Konami is trying to recreate the original game and its functionality, which allowed it to be successful. However, the developers need to realize that a remake shouldn’t include the flaws of the original game. There’s still some time beforeMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eaterreleases, so Konami could definitely bring quality-of-life improvements to the game.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eaterwas announced way back in 2023. The game is supposed to be a faithful recreation of Snake Eater while incorporating modern gameplay concepts. Konami has referred to its gameplay as“evolved”, and it’s being developed in Unreal Engine 5.
