Actress Rachel Brosnahan is playing Lois Lane in the upcomingSupermanmovie directed by James Gunn. Fans recently got their first look at the style and tone Gunn is aiming for with his take on the iconic superhero and his supporting cast of characters including the feisty and spunky journalist Brosnahan is portraying in the movie.

During an interview, Brosnahan talked about her role in the movie and the challenges of playing an investigative journalist who is also a love interest to David Corenswet’s titular character. Brosnahan admitted to going to the extreme lengths of stalking to get into character which is perfectly on-brand for Lois Lane. In January 2024, Brosnahan talked about playing the Daily Planet journalist in the upcoming film during a chat withEntertainment Tonight. The actress revealed that she was busy preparing for the part and even stalked some of her journalist friends to understand the finer details of her character.

During the same interview, Brosnahan talked aboutJames Gunn‘s take on the character and promised the film would have more comedic elements. Brosnahan stated (viaVariety):

I feel like it’s being made with so much love. And I think this Superman will have a sense of humor.

However, in a separate interview withThe Hollywood Reporter, Gunn revealed that the movie won’t be a comedy like his previous films. Nonetheless, the filmmaker confirmed the movie will have some humor. As a result, Gunn’s take promises to be very different from previous installments.
