In the past, it was stated that the action star was a pro-Republican for showing his support for John McCain’s run for President in 2008.

Apart from that, he also revealed how Donald Trump managed to pique his interest by being an allegorical character from a Charles Dickens novel.

Since the billionaire was running for President back then, Stallone had his opinions about him winning the elections, which stemmed from his intrigue for the candidate. He said that he liked Trump in the race for office because he was a very raw and mostly unfiltered individual coming from a political standpoint, which very much reminded him of a Dickensian character. He said:

“I loveDonald Trump, he’s a greatDickensian character. You know what I mean?There are certain people likeArnold,Babe Ruth, that are bigger than life.But I don’t know how that translates to running the world.”

Being a pro-Republican as claimed in the past, it’s no wonder that he would like Trump, may it be his nature or his ideologies.

In the same interview, the star also revealed how he was interested in getting into politics himself after a comment from a politician.

During his shoot for 2006’sRocky Balboa, the star met with themayor of Philadelphia, who told him that he had the chance to be elected if he got into the US politics scene. But when he brought this idea up with his wife Jennifer Flavin later, she told him there was no need for him to do so as the mayor was just being respectful and nice to him, which brought things into perspective.
