The game ends with Peter taking a break from being Spider-Man while Miles Morales’ adventures seem to continue. As a result, the ending implies that Peter’s tenure as Spider-Man might have ended.
In a recent interview withVariety,Yuri Lowenthal, who voices Peter Parker in the game, addressed the game’s ambiguous ending and what it means for his character’s future.

“While I think that Peter would love to believe that he can just turn it off and not be Spider-Man anymore and live a completely normal life, I don’t think that’s what’s going to happen now.”
Lowenthal made the above statement, hinting that Peter is bound to return for future games. While a third installment in the series is yet to be formally announced, it has beenrumoredto be in development. Lowenthal seemingly confirmed plans for the next game by stating the following:

“I don’t know — I haven’t read a script yet. They’re probably still working on it. But I don’t think that’s the last we’re gonna see Peter.”
Lowenthal’s words strongly suggest that Peter Parker is not yet ready to hang up his suit and pass on the mantle to Miles Morales. As a result, the OG Spider-Man is highly likely to feature in a prospectiveMarvel’s Spider-Man 3, which is reportedly being developed by Insomniac.

During the same interview, Lowenthal also discussed a personal connection he shares withMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, through his relationship with his wife, Tara Platt. In the game, Platt voices Yuri Watanabe / Wraith, and Lowenthal spoke about getting a chance to work with his wife.
“It’s always fun to work with her. We don’t get a chance to work with each other all the time on every project, obviously. But when the stars do align, it’s always it’s always a lot of fun.”

Lowenthal made the above statement expressing how much he enjoyed collaborating with his wife for the second installment of the popular game series.
