Miles Morales’ Spider-Man has his own diverse rogues gallery, a slew of whom have already made their appearance in Sony’s Spider-Verse films. WhileAcross the Spider-Verseintroduced audiences to an evil Miles Morales, fans might be in for a treat as another deep cut of a Spider-Man villain might come to the forefront of Beyond the Spider-Verse.
At the end of Across the Spider-Verse, Miles finds himself in a completely different universe, one where his father is slain instead of his uncle. This caused Miles to go down a darker path with his Uncle Aaron, inheriting the mantle of the Prowler. This further reached its end point when Miles 42 met with the Miles from the other timeline, the Spider-Man of his dimension. That scene in particular might reveal the villain waiting in the wings to make their appearance in the Spider-Verse films.

A scratch on Miles’ facetowards the end of the film has gotten a lot of fans wondering if Aaron Davis was checking to see if the Miles that he had captured was The Chameleon in disguise.

Poking around the mask would have led to it malfunctioning, revealing the Chameleon’s true face. This is an indication that the character could indeed exist in the universe, and could play a major role in Beyond the Spider-Verse, which would have a slew of Spider-People potentially fighting it out with other versions of Spider-Man villains. These villains could possibly be aiding Miguel O’Hara or even The Spot.

Across the Spider-Verse earned a lot of accolades, but it also got a lot of flack for what it allegedly put animators through. While there were multiple accusations from production members ofPhil Lordasking production members to change the finished animation, Sony denied any such thing happening. However, the film is still deep in production and might take at least another year and a half to reach a satisfactory product that they can release in theatres.

The film was set to release in March 2024, but has since been delayed with no fixed word on when it might be released. Heading towards finishing Lord and Miller’s phenomenal animated trilogy, the film is set to show Gwen Stacy and her friends across the Spider-Verse rescuing Miles, possibly leading a rebellion against the nefarious Spider-Man 2099, while also aiding Miles and other Spider-People to defeat The Spot. The latter has essentially turned into an eldritch god in the Spider-Verse, posing a threat to every reality.
