In September 2020, Phoenix and Mara celebrated the arrival of their first child, a son whom they named River, in honor of Phoenix’s late brother. Earlier this year, Mara revealed her pregnancy at the Berlin Film Festival’s premiere of La Cocina in Germany, where she graced the red carpet in a strapless black gown featuring a voluminous skirt that accentuated her baby bump.
