The original team and sound designer revealed in a recent article that they nearly abandoned several mechanics, a decision that would have fundamentally altered the game’s identity. Apparently, the studio was on the verge of discarding the way sound influenced the protagonist’s discovery, thereby affecting one of the game’s primary features.

Splinter Cell, one of Tom Clancy’s most beloved franchises, hasn’t released a new game in over a decade. Fans constantly ask the developer to remake this beloved saga for stealth genre lovers. Starring Sam Fisher, according to a recent interview, this game almost ended up being something entirely different,and it wouldn’t have been the success that it was for Ubisoft. Stealth fans love this franchise.

In an interview, one of the main figures behind the first game of this saga confessed that the studio almost prevented it from being what it ultimately became upon release. This executive stated that he had to fight hard to include the game’s sound mechanics, which were expensive at the time. These features are now practically fundamental to any contemporary stealth game.
A Game That Desperately Needs a Remake
Splinter Cellended up being a fantastic title, thanks to one of the game’s sound department heads. However, beyond these projects, the company has not revealed any future projects for the coming years that are notable or relevant in any sense. Even several titles are still in limbo, likeBeyond Good & Evil 2.
