With the launch of The Witch Queen,Destiny 2saw the beginning of an overhaul to its Light subclasses. Upon release, Voidwalker was considered by many to be one of the strongest classes in the game, being viable for almost any content, and this notion has remained true to this day. This guide will cover two builds with Voidwalker, using different exotics to create fun and engaging gameplay loops.

Void Fragments, Aspects, and Abilities can be purchased from Ikora in the Tower. They are rather expensive, so players should verify to stock up on Glimmer before paying a visit. These builds are rather dependent on Abilities in particular, so those trying them out should make note of that.
Crafting A Voidwalker Build
Destiny builds all have something in common, the core components of a build. These are the Aspects, Fragments, Mods,Weapons (some are much more appropriate choices than others), and Exotic Armor. These sections will break down each of these elements and recommend particular choices that will fit a Voidwalker well.
Nightstalker Aspects
Feed the Void
Defeat a target with a Void ability to activate Devour. While Devour is active, final blows restore health and extend Devour.
Chaos Accelerant
Hold to overcharge your grenade, making it deadlier and more effective. Vortex Grenade: Increases the size and linger duration of the vortex. Axion Bolt: Creates an additional seeker. Scatter Grenade: Submunitions track nearby targets. Magnetic Grenade: Releases a short-range Void blast.
Child of the Old Gods
Cast your rift to create a Void Soul. When you damage a target with a weapon, your Void Soul flies to them and drains them, doing damage and weakening them. When a target is being drained, you are granted grenade and melee energy (if running healing rift) or health (if running empowering rift) Defeating a target who is being drained by your Void Soul grants class ability energy.
Void Fragments
Void has access toseveral different powerful Fragments, some of which are the keys to both builds discussed here. Whileplayers are welcome to customize any of these choices to their own preferences, the options outlined below are highly recommended.
Echo of Remnants
Your lingering grenade effects (Vortex Grenade, Void Wall, Void Grenade, and Axion Bolt) have increased duration.
Echo of Starvation
Picking up a Void Breach or an Orb of Power grants Devour. -10 Recovery
Echo of Undermining
Your Void grenades weaken targets. -20 Discipline
Echo of Provision
Damaging targets with grenades grants melee energy. -10 Strength
Echo of Expulsion
Void ability final blows cause targets to explode. +10 Intellect
Echo of Persistence
Void buffs applied to you (Invisibility, Overshield, and Devour) have increased duration
Echo of Instability
Defeating targets with grenades grants Volatile Rounds to your Void Weapons. +10 Strength
Exotic Armor
Not all of Warlock’s exotic armor choices fit the bill here. The best choices are Contraverse Hold and Nothing Manacles. Void subclasses have access to brilliant grenades, so it makes sense to take advantage of two powerful grenade-based exotics.
Armor Mods
While there are a lot of amazing mod setups with the new Armor Charge system introduced inDestiny 2: Lightfall, the sheer variety can make it difficult to know which to put together. The top picks in this area, then, would be these mods:
These mods will contribute a lot to the gameplay loop of these builds, and transform the setup from effective to excellent.

Voidwalker Build: Contraverse Vortex Grenades
This first build takes full advantage of Contraverse Hold’s grenade-refunding powers. This build is designed to be a very safe build for higher-level content.Lobbing Vortex Grenades to debuff targets and deal considerable damage to them is important, as Chaos Accelerant and Echo of Remnants will cause the Vortex Grenade to last for quite a long time. This makes it quite a solid backup damage option to combine with an infinite ammo primary weapon, should the player be completely out of ammo (which is rather rare).
Armor Piece
Ashes to Assets, Heavy Ammo Finder, and Heavy Ammo Scout
2x Firepower and Bolstering Detonation

Resistance mods matching the enemy’s damage type
Orbs of Restoration, Stacks on Stacks, and Innervation

Explosive Finisher and Proximity Ward
These mods are designed to maximize the potential of the Vortex Grenade.Firepower and Ashes to Assets will net Super energy, the Heavy Ammo mods will help to ensure we are always stocked up on ammo, and Explosive Finisher is there as a backup should the player expend all of their Grenade Energy. This build scales incredibly well with the difficulty of the content being played.

Voidwalker Build: Nothing Manacles Scatter Grenades
This build takes Scatter Grenades and turns them into the engine of a broader build. Volatile Rounds are brilliant, and when paired with constant, destructive Vortex Grenades (utilizing Devour), are remarkably powerful.Child of the Old Gods funnels the grenade energy back, and Feed the Void combines with Devour.
Resistance mods matching the enemy’s damage
2x Void Surge and Innervation
Time Dilation and Reaper
These mods turn Scatter Grenades into Orb-generating machines. Two weapon Surge mods give 17% bonus damage with Void Weapons, which helps the user deal even more damage. This build is about repeatedly spamming Grenades off cooldown, and being in the fray with weapons and Devour.
These two builds are incredibly strong. While they both utilize grenades, they play pretty differently, with one being more passive and better for high-end content, and one geared towards easier content. Regardless, both builds will serve you well, regardless of the missions undertaken.
