If you’ve been playingBlack Myth Wukongsince launch, then you’ll probably have seen at least one of the boss battles that act as the grand finale for each chapter.
Black Myth Wukong: How To Beat Kang-Jin-Star
She’s a beauty, she’s a beast!
These are incredible visual showpieces and equally incredibly difficult and brutal encounters that players will be forced to endure if they want to progress. And if you want to get to the Webbed Hollow in Chapter Four, you’ll need to beat Yellowbrow.
Yellowbrow is the final boss of the New West portion of this title, and they offer a long, and very tricky fight. However, if you need the advice given in this guide, you’ll be able to put this false Buddha in their place and reap the rewards for doing so.

How To Prepare For Yellowbrow
In terms of preparation, the first thing I would say is that once you start this one, there is no turning back, so if you have any unfinished business or outstanding upgrades to make, go and do what you need to do now before entering the Thunderclap Temple.
But, if you’re wondering whether you’re fully equipped or not, here is a little checklist ofgeneral tips:

Then, with regards to the more specific tips to beat Yellowbrow, firstly, I would urge players to stock up onShock-Quelling Powder, as this boss will rely almost entirely on shock attacks throughout this fight.
Second, I would urge players to respec their character if they have invested a lot of Sparks into theirA Pluck of Many, as this spell will backfire when used against Yellowbrow, and your duplicates will turn on you. Instead, invest inCloud Step, orRock Solid.

Thirdly, I suggest youinvest in skills and equip items that allow you to build up focus fast, as heavy attacks are needed to break Yellowbrow out of their invulnerable golden state.
How to Defeat Yellowbrow Phase One
While the third phase of this fight is the one you’ll most likely have the most issue with, we will run through them all for the sake of clarity and offering a comprehensive guide.
The first phase when you encounter them within the temple is a rather simple one, but here are some tips to help you through:

As this stage of the battle is a trick to capture you, you’ll likely think that it’s far too easy, and it is. And before long, you’ll be thrust into the air and captured inside Yellowbrow’s sack, commencing Phase Two.
How To Defeat Yellowbrow Phase Two
Phase Twosees you come face to face with the Macaque Chief,a boss you will have faced a few times by this point. This fight is a much trickier encounter than the first stage of this cinematic chapter finale, but there are a few things that, if you know, you’ll ease through this section:
As you gain your health and mana back after the first phase, you should have all the tools you need to get through this one first try.

This will then lead to a segment where you play as the Macaque Chief yourself for a brief spell, but after this, you’ll enter the third stage of this fight, which, if we’re being honest, is when the real fight actually begins.
How To Defeat Yellowbrow Phase Three
This fight will begin with a brief period where you can rush in and attack Yellowbrow, and you’ll want to focus on landing solely physical attacks during this phase, saving your focus for later.
During this stage, some spells will be ineffective. Namely, theA Pluck of ManySpell and theImmobilizespell, so avoid using those at all during this fight.
After this initial exchange, Yellowbrow will cast themselves in gold, making them invulnerable. Players canbreak them out of this state by performing heavy attacks, with three usually being enough.
The best options to break through their gold is with charged heavy attacks,Cloud Step, and using heavy attacks while using yourRed TidesTransformation.
Whether they are cast in gold or not, their moves remain the same throughout, more or less. They will usually open things up with a lightning whip attack, which will see them slash the ground toward you with great range, leaving a wire-like environment hazard on the ground briefly.
Alongside this, they will also use piercing attacks, slam attacks, and lightning pillar attacks. Thankfully, though, these are all slow and easy to dodge, so just time your dodge somewhat close to the point of contact, and you’ll be fine.
They also have access to a skill where they cast a ring of lightning on the ground, and if the player touches it, they will be stunned. Which makes you vulnerable when they cast their imminent projectile attack. When they do this, jump out of the circleand then prepare to double dodge to evade the projectiles.

Spend Those Sparks Wisely
After a while in their gold state, they will eventually perform a huge AOE electric surge attack. When this occurs, head to the opposite side of the room and wait for the blast. Then, when it’s over, rush over to them, as this signals that their Gold effect is gone, and you can deal damage again.
It’s mainly a case of rinse and repeat. Break their gold shell, deal as much damage as possible, and eventually, they will go down.
The only additional advice I would offer is that two cutscenes represent breaks in the fight and will deal damage regardless of what you do, so save someHealing Gourdcharges for after these two breaks. Plus, don’t start your Transformations until they happen, as it will cut them short.
Lastly, during the third phase, their melee attacks become much more long-winded and hard to avoid,so try to save your transformation until thenand generally be a little more standoffish to make sure you can see the attacks coming.
Rewards For Defeating Yellowbrow
If you manage to defeat Yellowbrow, you’ll earn the following rewards for your efforts:
The standout reward, as always the case at the end of a chapter inBlack Myth Wukong, is the Relic. The Hubris Nose offers some great perks, which are as follows:
On top of this, you’ll also gain some great crafting materials that will eventually allow you to craft theGolden Embroidered ShirtArmor Set and theSpikeshaft Staff.
So, all in all, it’s well worth beating this big Buddha and nabbing these rewards.
