House of the DragonSeason 2 just came to a conclusion, and fans cannot keep calm about everything they saw. What has been a point of contention among many viewers this season finally came to a standstill when Rhaenyra reached Harrenhal and Daemon bent his knee to the queen. But the change in him did not come from the goodness of his heart, but rather a vision he saw in the Godswood.
Daemon’s storyline this season has not been the most exciting, with fans rueing the fate of such an emboldened character from season one becoming a shell of himself in the second. But the finale gave us some reprieve when Alys brings Daemon to the Godswood and he gets a vision of the Song of Fire and Ice. Nostalgia for the win, eh?
Daemon’s Vision In The Godswood Could Play a Crucial Role In The Future
When Daemon finally got to the Godswood, he saw a vision of the future. What we know today as theSong of Fire and Ice, came to him in glimpses. From Daenerys and her three dragons to the Night King and the White Walkers, he had a vision of what the future awaits. As he said during the finale episode when Rhaenyra comes to Harrenhal.
The war is just the beginning. Winter is coming, with darkness and doom… I saw that we cannot withstand it, and yet somehow, we must.

His vision saw Rhaenyra sitting on the Iron Throne at the end. We already know fromFire and Blood,that she will be queen, even if it is for a little while before meeting her tragic end. So this is the way things were supposed to be, but there are also some digressions that fans couldn’t help but notice. From learning that Sunfyre is dead to yet another meeting between Alicent and Rhaenyra and their ‘deal’ to a scene where we see Otto Hightower locked in some sort of a cage, things are bound to get interesting in the upcoming season and not just because war is looming.

TheHouse of the Dragonseason two finale sawDaemon’s visionof the future, including that of Daenerys and Jon Snow. While they did not bring back Kit Harrington or Emilia Clarke for a quick cameo, it was not difficult for fans to figure out that Dany and Jon were always going to be at the end of the line for what was about to come. But one of the biggest revelations was Brynden Rivers, also known as Lord Bloodraven.
Fans of the franchise have already met The Bloodraven inGame of Thrones. But unlike in the OG show, House of the Dragon gave us an accurate version of the character’s appearance, with a red wine stain birthmark on his right cheek down to his throat. The last greenseer, who was once Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, was lost Beyond the Wall and lived as the three-eyed-crow. He later becomes Bran Stark’s mentor when he reaches beyond the Wall and teaches him to be his successor.

The only point of disagreement here would be that the three-eyed-crow is supposed to be a thousand years old, but on the other hand, Brynden Stark would be only a few hundred years older than Bran when they first meet. He also does not have the bloodraven birthmark when we first saw the character inGame of Thrones. We see the character die at the hands of the Night King in the show, but given George R. R. Martin has yet to finish his last books from the series, we might get to see some changes done to the plot from what we saw at the end ofGame of Thrones.
