Since the publication of this article, PlayStation has confirmed the new lineup of games coming to PS Plus this month. A full breakdown of all of the new games coming to the service this month can be found in the latestPlayStation blog post.

According to a reliable PS Plus leaker namedbillbill-kun, Sony’s PlayStation Plus subscription service is offering a generous selection of titles on February 21st, including the Sony exclusiveHorizon Forbidden West, along withResident Evil 7: Biohazard,Borderlands 3,Scarlet Nexus, and several others. All games are teased to come with both PS4 and PS5 versions, but some, such as Horizon Forbidden West, will only be available as part of the subscription’s extra and premium tiers.

Released about a year ago, Horizon Forbidden West was nominated for several awards including Best Direction, Best Story, Best Audio Design, and Best Overall Game of the Year, but it certainly had fierce competition from other Sony exclusives likeGod of Warand From Software’sElden Ring, which may have taken away from the attention it truly deserved. Nonetheless, Sony continues to support the game with an upcomingPlayStation 5exclusive DLC and theVR spin-off Horizon Call of the Mountain.

It appears that the version of Borderlands 3 being offered is the standard edition without the post-release expansions included in the Gold Edition. However, the base game alone has significant value, especially after receiving a next-gen upgrade in 2020. Additionally, across-platform play updatefor PlayStation was added in 2022, after the feature remained exclusive to other consoles for quite some time.

For fans of anime, Scarlet Nexus has proven to be a hidden gem. The game features a fluid and dynamic combat system that emphasizes the use of psychic abilities to interact with both enemies and the environment. In 2021, it competed against Tales of Arise for the title of Best RPG, but unfortunately came in second. The game has also been adapted into a full anime series that tells the story of both protagonists, Yuito and Kasane, in addition to introducing new events and an epilogue.

As for Resident Evil 7, it also appears to be the base game and does not include any story-based DLC content, but the game did receive a PS5 version upgrade last year that includes visual enhancements, ray tracing, higher frame rate modes, and haptic feedback/adaptive triggers for the PS5. The game also supports the console’s VR headset and can be fully enjoyed in VR, which may coincide with the release ofSony’s PS VR 2just around the corner.
