During an exclusive interview withThe Laterals, Godoy admitted that there were moments when playing a character as massive as Luffy stressed him to his core. He said,

There were times when it was very hard, and the pressure of it all got to me.

Luffy inspired Iñaki Godoy to be a better version of himself.

However, he acknowledged that his character’s spirit would take over him and guide him through the tricky waters, and he would“start to have fun like him.”

But you know if you continue playing Luffy for a long time, his spirit takes over you, and somehow you sometimes forget that you’re working on this massive production because you start to have fun like him.

In the post, the actor opened up about how his life changed when he put on“Luffy’s straw hat for the first time.”While praising how the show became a major part of his fame and life, he got candid on how the protagonist and the Shonen series significantly altered his life. He wrote,

Just like a lot of you, Luffy and One Piece pushes me to be the best version of myself, and it has changed my life in many ways. I’m so grateful that I get to be your live action Luffy, and it makes me happy that more people around the world can get to know this super awesome captain and his crew.

Godoy was overwhelmed with joy because fans loved his portrayal and had been sending him warm wishes and fan art that made him overwhelmed with joy because he is living his dream of portraying a character like Monkey D. Luffy.
