Trivia has always been in Jackbox’s DNA, dating back to the iconic You Don’t Know Jack Series, so it’s great to see the team sticking to their roots while trying something new.
The announcement of Jackbox Party Pack 11 came with an additional special surprise: a standalone release of Trivia Murder Party 3, the classic trivia game hosted in various horror film locations and featuring [redacted], an alleged serial killer.
Trivia Murder Party 3 Has Been Delayed Until 2026
Trivia Murder Party 3 was supposed to release later this year, alongside Jackbox Party Pack 11, but sadly, that’s no longer the case.
“In order to bring the best game to our fans, we are pushing the release of Trivia Murder Party 3,” the studioannounced. “Thank you for your patience while we make the best game possible for both you and [redacted], who is definitely NOT holding us hostage until we get things right.”
The newest entry in the Trivia Murder Party series takes place at a summer camp, echoing the vibes of the Friday the 13th film franchise. It’s also being built using a brand new game engine, as well as the first Jackbox title in recent history to feature online matchmaking. The team also plans to continuously update Trivia Murder Party 3 with post-launch events and content.

The only other Jackbox game I can recall having online matchmaking was the 2011 reboot for the franchise, released for Microsoft Windows,Nintendo DS,PlayStation 3,Nintendo Wii, andXbox 360. Having played in online matchmaking on the 360 for far too many hours, I can attest to how spotty, at best, the connection was. Granted, that was ten years ago, but it’s refreshing to see the team at Jackbox Games take their time to make sure Trivia Murder Party 3 is the best it can be, because you better believe I’m going to lose my life to that game.
