Golden Kamuyhas entered its last arc for several months now, with the series reaching its climax, here’s how many chapters are left until the ending.

Golden Kamuyis one of the most popular action and seinen manga currently in publication. Taking place in the early 20th century and starring a Japanese imperial soldier, Saichi Sugimoto, and an Ainu girl, Asirpa, the manga written and illustrated by Satoru Noda, withsupervisionby Dr. Hiroshi Nakagawa, hasover 19 million printed copies in circulation in Japan alone. The manga is atypical and interesting in how it takes particular care in depicting Ainu culture, doesn’t go into stereotypes, and doesn’t shy away from hinting at how the Japanese government persecuted the Ainu in Hokkaido.

Personally speaking, I’ve only picked upGolden Kamuyrecently and am still in the early arcs of the manga. It’s been an incredible ride so far though, and the series is pretty different from what I imagined. Because what you see the most on social media is Asirpa memes and faces without context at all. I definitely recommend picking up the manga if you’ve only watched the anime. I’ll try to get to the anime myself too as soon as time permits.
