One ofHelldivers 2’s newest weapons is getting absolutely slandered by the community as fans call it “ass.”
I am, of course, referencing Helldivers 2’s BR-14 Adjudicator Marksman Rifle, which was released as part of the game’s new Democratic Detonation Premium Warbond yesterday. While the BR-14 isn’t the only new weapon included in the Warbond, it is the only new Marksman Rifle, so fans were hoping it would pack more of a punch than it actually does.

Helldivers 2: New Meta Loadouts (Democratic Detonation)
This guide details the best loadouts choices that complement each other across all difficulty levels as established in Helldivers 2’s new meta.
For those that haven’t had the opportunity to check out the new Premium Warbond, up for grabs is three new Armor Sets, three new primary weapons, three new utilities, and plenty of emotes, capes, and banners for players to unlock.

As for the BR-14 Adjudicator, this somewhat lacklustre Marksman Rifle deals 80 damage, has a capacity of 25, a recoil rate of 50, and a fire rate of 550. While the official description of the weapon states that the rifle is “an accurate, armor-penetrating rifle” which “delivers righteous judgement to medium-sized enemies,” fans don’t think it quite lives up to its description.
Helldivers 2’s New BR-14 Adjudicator Is “Ass”
Over on the Helldivers subreddit, players have come together to share their joint hatred for the new BR-14 Adjudicator rifle. With over 18,000 upvotes at the time of writing this article, a post by Reddit user RainInSoho called the weapon “ass,” and fellow Helldivers clearly agree.
“I had to double-take at its damage stat, yeah. didn’t expect it to be very good as the Diligence is alreadybarelymeeting damage breakpoints with a much higher stat. They are not beating the “they made a shotgun the best DMR” allegations anytime soon,“Reddit user LEOTomegane said.

Another Reddit user saidthat the weapon “feels awful to use,” whilst also noting that they used it for three games and were outclassed in every single regard. But arguably the best point was made byReddit user Cadlington, who noted that the whole point of Helldivers 2 is to fight large waves of enemies, yet the description of the weapon states that the weapon is ineffective against large groups.
Developer Arrowhead has been releasing a steady stream of patches since Helldivers 2’s release earlier this year, but weapon balancing doesn’t appear to be a high priority for the team. But after the release of another abysmal weapon, it could be time for Arrowhead to focus less on new Warbonds and weapons, and more on balance adjustments for the existing weapons.
