A story that keeps the fans hooked is all they want when it comes toCall of Dutyvideo games, even withBlack Ops 6. Many think it was withModern Warfare 3that the popular military shooter saw a downfall. So, they thought of relying on a different aspect until the next game arrives.

They entered some twisted realms to kill unholy creatures, and Zombies. First introduced with the fifth installment of the video game,World at War, it was fun. But instead of growing into a phenomenon, it has become another of the Activision’s aspects that aren’t worth the time.

Activision Should Now Stop Focusing on the ‘Dead’ Story

Call of Duty‘s Zombies mode is bad. Period. There was a time when it felt good shooting the undead and sealing those openings to prevent zombies from entering a building. But Activision isn’t really about zombies. It should’ve buried right there.

But the zombies stayed as theBlack Opsstory advanced. Just likeexperimenting with new skins isn’t helpingCall of Duty, and it implies that it needed a halt, Activision needs to say throw in the towel for this before the users say it.

It’s boring now, more than ever. There was a different charm in it back in the day with the characters and narrative. Now it’s all just a bland husk of what this mode used to be. It used to be that what variety brought could keep the fans busy, but in reality, it may actually end up fanning the flames.

“Something I didn’t know I wanted to see”: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies’ Final Piece of the Puzzle Unveiled

Now a concept like that ought to induce a kind of fear among the fans. Of course, I am not saying that the game should give that chill factor like we all felt while playingResident Evil 4, but there has to be something akin to it. This is also because we have a large stack of weapons, and we don’t really need to run away.

Buying weapons and perks was simple, but more challenging, when it came to encountering zombies. But it’s the other way around now. There’s no challenge and it’s just hordes of a variety of better-looking zombies and quests like activating the teleporters.

It’sZombieland, but without the fun. Maybe bringing a character like Tallahassee would make a difference. But Activision won’t do that because he will eventually end up as one of thoseWarzoneskins. I hopewhatBlack Ops 6has shown to usends up adding some fun to the mode.

Extinction in Call of Duty: Ghosts is Small But it Won’t Let the User Grow Bored

I say that again.Call of Duty‘s Zombies mode is bad. But we have something that many are now realizing is one of the most underrated products ofCall of Duty. I am talking aboutGhosts.

Simplicity used to be at its core. When it comes to upping its game, Activision would rather focus on visuals and not making the games more complex.Ghostsis one such game that belongs to this category. And with it, came a mode that was still better than the ‘lifeless‘ Zombies.

It’s called Extinction, that, thankfully, wasn’t extended to this date. It’s like how if Wayne Rooney comes out of his retirement to play for ten more years, and fails, it would be heartbreaking. I am happy with the legacy both left behind.

There weren’t any zombies inCall of Duty: Ghosts‘ Extinction. Instead, there were cryptids. It consists of five episodes, where four were rolled out as the game’s DLCs. Throughout these episodes, we get to see aliens that you won’t find in any of the games featuring zombies.

Point of Contact was included in the base game for the introduction. The first episode called Nightfall, where the Breeder impales the soldier trying to enter the metal gate, still gives me nightmares. We get to fight a large Kraken-like boss too, during Mayday.

The maps are small, but the creativity of the developers is just praiseworthy. This map, called Awakening, almost feels like the effects psychedelics have on our brains.

And there is something similar toSpace Marine 2. In the final mission, Exodus, we fight these ancient beings called Ancestors. When we look at the sky, we can see these creatures like Tyranids circling above; that just looks awesome.

If you haven’t played it yet, and are still stuck on Zombies, you need to give it a shot. Also, it won’t stretch for long, so you won’t grow bored playing.

What do you think of Extinction inCall of Duty: Ghosts? We would like to know your thoughts on it in the comments section below.
