The protagonist of Tite Kubo’sBleach, Ichigo Kurosaki, has fought against many prominent characters within the series, and while he has faced a challenge against most of them, he has managed to defeat them all. He has constantly tried to evolve himself and unlock new potentials of his strength that have helped him in almost every arc ofBleach.

Almost every fight of Ichigo’s is filled with thrill and drama, and they serve as a good source of entertainment while also reflecting his and his opponents’ true power. While most of his opponents use their entire strength, there was oneBleachvillain who should have been much stronger compared to how he was portrayed in the story.
This character is none other than Ginjo Kugo, one of the Fullbringers and the leader of Xcution. Ginjo was also formerly known as the first Substitute Soul Reaper and held the title Ichigo Kurosaki inBleach. He was quite formidable, but his battle against Ichigo didn’t do his character much justice.

Ginjo was quite similar to Ichigo in more than one way
Ginjo was the main antagonist of the The Lost Substitute Shinigami arc inBleach. He was a Fullbringer, a special kind of spiritually aware human who carried the strange power to manipulate the souls that reside in all physical matter. He taught the Fullbring ability to Ichigo and gained his trust as an allyonly to betray himin the end and try to steal his powers.

And while they were on opposing sides by the end, they were quite similar. In fact, it is assumed that they were two opposing sides of the same coin, where Ichigo is on the bright side and Ginjo is on the dark side. Both held the title of Substitute Soul Reaper and were observed by the Soul Society in order to monitor their actions inBleach.
Not only that, but both of them were eventually betrayed by someone they trusted. Thus, in many ways, the two characters were quite similar, and while their battle ended with Ichigo ultimately winning, it showed the parallels between the twoBleachcharacters.

Ginjo should have been a little stronger inBleach
Ichigo and Ginjo’s battle was quite exciting forBleachfans. However, the only flaw with the battle was the fact that Ginjo should have been a little bit stronger than he was originally shown in the narrative byTite Kubo. This is because of his similarity with Ichigo within theBleachnarrative.
As mentioned above, Ginjo was very much similar to Ichigo. In fact, the two shared the same title asSubstitute Soul Reaper of the Soul Society. However, Ichigo went miles above Ginjo in terms of strength at the time of their battle.

This left a bad impression on Ginjo’s character and hurt his image as one of the strongest Fullbringers and the former Substitute Soul Reaper inBleach.

If Kubo had given Ginjo the chance he deserved, he would have lived up to fans’ expectations. Not only that, his battle against Ichigo inBleachwould have been even more entertaining and would have joined the ranks of other prominentBleachbattles.
Bleachis available to watch on Hulu.
