There are a lot of things that makeSupernaturalbrilliant, but more often than not there are times when the show frustrates it’s adoring fans. Given that the show, like most things on The CW, is largely formulaic, it’s nigh impossible for some issues to not be recurring.

These five instances are times when Supernatural really messed up a good thing, with fans wondering why these issues were not fixed in time until today. While Eric Kripke has proved himself to be a master of storytelling time and time again, it is difficult to overlook such glaring irritants in the story.

The Communication Between Sam and Dean

Dean and Sam are brothers who started out as a little distant, but eventually grew a lot closer. However, there was one thing abut the duo that irked fans over and over again: they barely ever communicated properly.

While the duo had little trouble with coordination when it came to demon hunting, more often than not the characters would find themselves hiding something very important from the other. This became a pain point for the fandom, which was subjected to a slew of idiot plots as a result.

Other Hunters were wholly expendable

While The Winchesters were the star of the show, a slew of other hunter families and organizations were introduced in the show. What made it frustrating was that these individuals barely ever got the time to shine that they deserved, and they became expendable canon orders essentially.

Even with their great personalties, these characters rarely ever got to stick around. If fans were ever endeared to a performance or a character, they were more often than not subjected to the death of the character just after a few appearances.

Angels and Demons were nerfed

Killing a demon inSupernaturalin the initial seasons of the show was a mean feat that felt like a triumph. However, after a while, the demons, and the angels in the show became significantly nerfed, taking in a lot less punishment before they were defeated.

The issue started when Demons and Angels were dealt with as mooks rather than power henchmen of Hell and Heaven respectively. There were a million other ways of canon fodder that could have been introduced in the show, but instead, it decided to nerf some of its most dangerous aspects.

Initially, when Angels and Demons were introduced in the show, showrunners and creators behind the scenes took a lot of care in designing and equipping the characters with believable props. However, as the show went on, things changed.

The effort that went into indicating whether a character is an angel or demon became rather minuscule, and fans were left wanting more. It did break the rules of the universe, and it felt pretty convenient that these powerful characters were so easily propped up and discarded.

Lucifer became very bland

Lucifer, the very King of Hell, had a tough time being taken seriously by fans, thanks to the number of times the character was used. Fans were downright fed up with what the writers did to the character and wished he had a better arc.

Despite all the love that the show ended up receiving, there were a lot of issues with what the writers ended up doing with Lucifer. However, when a show runs for as long asSupernaturaldid, there are bound to be some errors that can’t be solved.
