Jimmy Kimmel is one of the few talk show hosts who have been on Trump’s radar for disrespect, given that the former President of the United States is known to hold grudges. While Donald Trump might want to take Kimmel off the air should he come to power, Jimmy Kimmel seems to be ready to march on should Trump once again become the commander-in-chief.
Speaking on MSNBC, the talk show host talked about how he dealt with Trump’s election in 2016, and how he might not be prepared to face it again should he win this time. However, he has reaffirmed his commitment to keep going, which involved being critical of the former President.
Jimmy Kimmel believes that Trump is running for President to stay out of jail
Jimmy Kimmel decided to talk about what he thinks is the reason that Donald Trump is so desperately trying to win.
More than just winning to seize the office of the POTUS again, the businessman-turned-politician actually wants to stay out of jail more than anything else. As Kimmel toldMSNBC:
I think what we’re forgetting, I keep forgetting it, and I have to keep reminding myself, he’s not just running for president, he’s running to stay out of prison and that’s a pretty powerful thing. He is literally running for his freedom

Further, Trump seems to be hellbent on snuffing out his critics, with the same network claiming that he is open to, or has at least spoken about, jailing his political opponents. There also seems to be a lot of hatred from the president for his critics, Kimmel included, who he would love to see shut down.
Jimmy Kimmel hopes to keep going under Trump’s presidency
Jimmy Kimmelis sure that Trump’s presidency will not have an effect on his work, despite the latter being very vocal about his distaste for the talk show host. When asked about what he expects to change should Trump win, Kimmel said:
Well, it won’t change. I am not — I’m concerned, certainly, I think that it would be so un-American if he were to come after people speaking out against him
While Jimmy Kimmel has stated that he is not very keen on the former President regaining his seat in the Oval Office, Kimmel hopes that the President will not go as far as silencing his critics, given that Trump himself has talked about the freedom of speech that Americans enjoy when talking about the woke left taking over the institutions of the country.
