Not only that, but the actor also negotiated a deal with the studio to bring in a certain amount of profit from the movie. Christopher Reeve, the lead actor of the 1978 film revealed that there was one actor that he didn’t like working with. Alleging thatMarlon Brandosimply took the salary money and ran, Reeve did not like the fact that Brando only appeared for around 20 minutes and received a paycheck of $2 million!

Maybe it was jealousy or maybe Reeve does have a point but the actor didn’t like to work with Marlon Brando. As per an unearthed interview byThe Hollywood Reporter,Christopher Reeve insinuated that Brando did not simply care about the movie!
“Not really. No. I had a wonderful time, but the man didn’t care. He just took the $2 million [salary] and ran. I don’t say this to be vicious, but I don’t worship at the altar of Marlon Brando, because I feel he’s copped out in a certain way.”
He further continued,
“What happened is the press loved him whether he was good, bad or indifferent; that people just thought he was an institution no matter what he did, so he doesn’t care anymore. I just think it would be sad to be 53, or whatever he is, and not give a damn, that’s all. He could be a real leader for us.”
With Brando and Christopher Reeve in the film,Supermanreceived a rating of 7.4/10 on IMDB and a whopping 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. The iconic film that left a legacy behind is available to stream on Max in the U.S.
