People say, “How about bringing back Dirty Harry?” I say, “Are you going to have him driving along the highway in a trailer with an AARP sign on one side, and an ‘I’m Spending the Kids’ Inheritance’ on the other?” Then what happens? He has to come out of retirement with a big 44? That’s the kind of thing people do throw out once in a while. Not too much anymore, because I’ve pretty well shot that down.
According to Eastwood,Dirty Harrywas a film that belonged to the 1970s in crime-ridden San Francisco, and making it in a different time and place would not do justice to the narrative, and there would be no old-school brutality. His comment was a sarcastic joke about how unrealistic it would be to revive the franchise.

John Huston, who happened to be one of his greatest inspirations, directed his final film while being in a wheelchair, which is something that the actor immensely admires. So, at an age when most professionals would want to step away from work, Eastwood remained dedicated to his craft and kept creating cinema.
