343 Industries kickstartedHalo: The Master Chief Collection’sarrival on PC last year when it releasedHalo: Reach, the first game in the series chronologically.Halo: Combat EvolvedAnniversarywas then planned to be the second game in the series that made its way to PC, but news on when the original entry in the series would be arriving hadn’t been made clear. As of now, though, it seems word on the game’s release date could be coming quite soon.
Via the officialHaloYouTube channel, 343 Industries today released a brief teaser video that is seeming to indicate thatCombat Evolvedwill soon be joiningThe Master Chief Collectionfor PC users. The trailer is only about a minute long and features Master Chief sitting in his stasis pod, which is what he emerges from at the beginning ofCombat Evolved. The video then ends showing the symbol forHalo: Combat Evolved Anniversaryas the game’s image inThe Master Chief Collectionbecomes illuminated.
While there is no release date included in the video or its description, this clearly seems to indicate thatHalo: Combat Evolvedis soon going to arrive on PC. In all likelihood, I’d expect that an official announcement will come in the very near future from the team over at 343 Industries, perhaps as soon as this week. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the game itself is rolled out to PC users by the end of this week. That’s just conjecture on my part, but this whole process could definitely be expedited.Combat Evolvedhas already been in atesting flight phase on PC for awhile now, after all.
We’ll keep you posted here on DualShockers once we hear more officially from 343 Industries aboutCombat Evolved’saddition toThe Master Chief Collectionfor PC. Until then,Reachremains the only game in the larger collection that is out right now on PC. Meanwhile, the wholeHalosaga is available for play on Xbox One if you’d prefer to experience it over there.
