As Microsoft looks to promote theXboxbrand as a gaming ecosystem that can be played anywhere, it recently crossed a major milestone on the road to making that possible.
Over 1,000 games are now available throughXbox Play Anywhere, which allows gamers to play their games on console, PC, and supported gaming handhelds. This includes dropping in and out as you see fit and having your progress transferred over.

Former Xbox Exec Suggests Microsoft Would Stop Making Hardware Given the Choice
Peter Moore recently appeared on Gamertag Radio with Danny Pena and said that if given the option, Microsoft would no longer make consoles.
For example, when I was playing Avowed, I switched back and forth between Xbox Series X and PC to see if there were any differences between the versions or just because I felt like relaxing on the couch and playing on my television rather than sitting at my computer desk. It was a seamless transition every time, with all my progress being saved and nothing lost.

Best of all, Xbox Play Anywhere also supports cloud gaming on supported gaming handhelds, which means I can take things on the go with me.
Xbox Play Anywhere Is One of Xbox’s Best Features
Best of all, Xbox Play Anywhere isn’t limited to first-party titles. It’s great that I can pick up and playAvowed,Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, or any other first-party title as I see fit. However, I can do the same with Metaphor: ReFantazio, Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Vampire Survivors, and more.
Notable upcoming releases supported by Xbox Play Anywhere includeAtomfall,DOOM: The Dark Ages,Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, andClair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Doom: The Dark Ages Is Leaving Eternal’s Complicated Combat Behind
Doom: The Dark Ages is leaving behind the acrobatic and complicated combat of its predecessor for something more streamlined.
It’s a great balance between genres, as sometimes you just want to boot up a quick playthrough of DOOM or Tony Hawk, or maybe you’re in a groove with Expedition 33 or Atomfall, and someone else wants access to the television.

It’ll be exciting whenMicrosoft launches its own handheld device in a few yearsor even when the rumored Xbox-branded handheld system comes later this year. Being able to access your Xbox games wherever you are can help Microsoft grow their customer base.
