Back in the summer of 2020,Rockstar Gameswas reportedly gearing up to release a new update forGrand Theft Auto Onlineknown as Cops ‘n’ Crooks. While never confirmed by Rockstar, reliable sources such asTezFunz2have discovered multiple references to the update in the years since its cancellation.

Rumours suggest that the update was canned due to real-world events that were taking place at the time, likely related to the death of George Floyd and the protests that followed. But now, after four years of rumours, GTA fans believe Rockstar has repurposed the update and will now be releasing it later this month under a different name.

According to TezFunz2, who is a reliable leaker and insider when it comes to all things Rockstar, the scrapped Cops ‘n’ Crooks update was supposed to include some form of “Dispatch Work” missions, which are now being included in this summer’s big update.

There’s still likely a lot more to be shared by Rockstar Games in the coming weeks, but fans are hopeful that it will include some brand-new cop cars and plenty of new police uniforms to rock while completing their bounty missions.
