However, this time a familiar face should lead the Kaiju film, and it’s none other than Hiroyuki Sanada. Instead of the Westernization of the movie, fans deserve an authentic but talented cast and theShōgunactor is the perfect choice.

However, against all presumptions, the small VFX team of 35 artists went on to win against big-budget films. Audiences and critics too lauded the filmmakers with praise, calling it one of the best films of 2023, and the finest in the franchise.

What’s next?: The fan-favorite leading man

The Yamazaki directorial returned to the theatre to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the original 1954 classic. Along with the rerelease, Toho also surprised fans by announcing another Godzilla film with the same director.

I’m very excited about this alongside the future Monsterverse Godzilla movies and Crossover movies with King Kong.

Takashi Yamazaki is one hell of a Director. He really nailed GODZILLA: Minus One. Looking forward to watching the sequel.

The previous movie concluded with the monster being slayed by the former kamikaze pilot Kōichi Shikishima (portrayed byRyunosuke Kamiki). But the possibility of the creature’s regeneration was teased before the end, which could be a witty leeway for the sequel.
