Among his normal blockable stomps and spikes will be red and yellow-ringed attacks. These are attacks of a more dangerous variety, and should be treated seriously unless you want Kratos to take a beating. Not to worry, this slow-moving boss shouldn’t be too hard for you to handle if you know what’s coming. So, if you’ve come looking for tips and tricks to take down Slag Horn, you’re in the right place.
Dodging The Red Ring
The dreaded red ring is pretty simple, even though it’s also deadly. The red ring can’t be blocked against, and it cannot be parried.Your only option with a red ringed attack is to dodge it as quickly as you may.
Every once in a while, Slag Horn will attempt to take a bite out of you. When you see his head moving in and the red ring, you want to dodge backward as quickly as you can.Don’t get caught by this bite, because it hurts.

The Tail Spikes
Sometimes you’ll see the red ring when Slag Horn is raising its tail from behind. This means it’s about to shoot tail spikes at you.Like all red ringed attacks, there’s no use blocking, so you’ll have to dodge quickly to avoid getting hurt.
Occasionally, Slag Horn will get up on its two back legs for a moment and smash back down its front legs, creating a shock wave that will hurt you if it hits you.One of these can be easy to avoid, but Slag Horn will sometimes do this three times in rapid succession. Put some distance between you and the beast and stay on your toes. Dodging is your only option, so keep rolling away until it stops making these shockwaves.

Breaking The Yellow Ring
Yellow ring attacks are a bit more forgiving than the red ring.If you hold up your block, a yellow ringed attack will break the block, throwing your shield wide and leaving you vulnerable to follow-up attacks. You definitely want to avoid this. However, if you block just before being hit, you’ll perform a parry. This will knock away the attack, avoiding damage and potentially allowing you to counterattack.
Slag Horn will sometimes swing its head from side to side, threatening to damage you with its horns and tusks.you’re able to dodge out of the way of this or try your hand at parrying it.

The Tail Swipe
When a yellow ring appears, and you see Slag Horn winding up its tail, it’s about to spin around to hit you with a tail swipe. You can attempt to parry this attack or dodge away entirely, just don’t try to stand there to block it, or you’ll be thrown aside.

Taking The Offensive
When you start the fight, you’ll see two yellow dots on the front legs of Slag Horn. These yellow dots are vulnerable to your spear explosions. So, throw your spears at his legs, explode them, and wait for Slag Horn to collapse. Once Slag Horn is on its side, rush in and deal as much damage as you can before it gets back up. This vulnerability will come back over time, but your best bet is to keep pressing the fight against slag horn instead of waiting for the yellow dots to reappear, as they can take a while.
