God of War Ragnarokoffers many fantasticside quests called Favors. These quests range from the upmost significance to the pretty standard fetch-quest. Casualties of War: The Scroll is a fairly minor side quest, but one well worth pursuing. The Casualties of War series of Favors can be found in thenorthwestern region of Vanaheimin an area calledThe Crater. The Scroll side quest can be found in thePlains sub-region. This area can be accessed by pursuing and completing theScent of Survivalquestline, which can be obtained shortly after a pretty major story event that takes place during the mainline quest,Creatures of Prophecy.

Just keep an eye out for a quest related toHelka, the loyal hound from Freyr’s Camp, and follow her when prompted. The Crater is a pretty massive subregion in Vanaheim, well worth exploring for its fantastic combat encounters, puzzles, and lore to unearth during your adventuring. One such side quest comes in the form of the Casualties of War Favors – a handful of side quests offered by restless spirits. Helping them complete their tasks allows them to finallyfind peace in the afterlife.
How To Start Casualties Of War: The Scroll
From theleftmost celestial altarin the Plains,head west, threading the path between the smith shop on your left and the Mystic Gateway on you right.
When you reach the end of this path, drop down. You’ll see a grapple point straight ahead, but take theleft tunnel path. In here, you’ll find the quest giver.
The spirit is asking for you to transport a message to her commander. The spirit mentionsred treesin The Plains. These aren’t too far from your current location.
Where To Find The Other Half Of The Scroll
Return to the Celestial altar you began at anddrop down the eastern side. Head north, hugging the rock wall to your left until you reach abulbous treewith a sort of hollowed out center with a flower blooming inside. Head down the path directly to your west from here (taking a left at this tree).
Among the red trees in this small clearing, you’ll find the other half of the spirit’s scroll for the Casualties of War side quest. Interact with it, and you will complete the mission after a short conversation with the spirit.
Upon completion, you will receive 500 xp for Kratos, 125 xp for Atreus, and theStunning Fang Amulet Enchantment.
