In the same interview, Parsons opened up about how he felt hesitant to reprise the role of Sheldon Cooper and he felt at peace with his off-screen role in the show.However, he was convinced at once, when he read the script for the finale of the series, making him feel like it was a“gift.”
I felt a slight hesitancy when they first asked, just as I thought, I don’t really want to go revisit the character. But the way that they wrote it in was I thought so beautiful that it ended up being like this little extra coda or whatever to my experience with the character. It was this gift of a second layer of losing it out in a way that I had never seen coming, and it was a real treat.
Nevertheless, the story finally came to an end that left its viewers in tears and George Cooper Sr.’s demise just made the season finale all themore emotional and tear-jerking.
