Genshin Impact’s next major update is all set to bring new characters, weapons, areas, and a plethora of new stuff to the game, and miHoYo has finally outlined the release time and maintenance schedule of the update.

In a newblog post on the Hoyolab website, miHoYo has given fans an overview of when they can expect the update to drop across all platforms. The maintenance will be kickstarting on April 12th at 06:00 (UTC+8). It is expected that the maintenance will take around five hours, but in rare circumstances, maintenance has been known to last longer. Since players will not be able to log in to the game during the said period, they should plan their schedule beforehand accordingly.

For each hour the game is down, players will be getting 60 Primogems as compensation for the maintenance. This means that players will be getting a total of 300 Primogems by the time the update launches. It should be noted that even if the maintenance ends before five hours, players are guaranteed to get 300 Primogems, but if it exceeds that point, then they will get 60 Primogems an hour on top of it.

However, there is a catch. Players need to ensure that they are at least Adventure Rank 5 before the update drops, or else they will not be eligible for compensation. The Primogems are sent by in-game mail once the update is released, and players usually have 30 days to redeem it, failing which the mail gets expired.

The 3.6 Update will be featuring two new characters, Kaveh and Baizhu, the latter being one of the most anticipated characters in the game for quite a while now. However, neither of them is part of the first phase, and they will be debuting in the latter half of the update. miHoYo had also recently announced an all-new character that will be debuting in the 3.7 Update, Kirara, and she has already become a sensation in the community. With a plethora of exciting stuff lined up, Genshin Impact fans have a lot to look forward to in the days to come.
