And this date is not very far away either; fans would be able to stream this trailer in less than a day. Thetweet from the developersaid, “The trailer for“ELDEN RING SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE” will be released today, February 21st (Wednesday) at 24:00. Please take a look if you like.”This tweet was originally in Japanese; this is the translated version of it.
Alongside this message, FromSoftware even posted their YouTube video link, which takes fans to a video with a timer. This timer ends on February 21 at 10 a.m. EST. This is surprising given the fact that popular leaker and insiderShinobialso hinted at some sort ofElden Ringnews coming very soon.
It looks like this is exactly the thing that was discussed on FandomWire before. FromSoftware was waiting to be handed over the ownership of theElden RingIP to announce this DLC; after all, it made very little sense for them to do so while still being under Namco.
The other thing is thatElden Ring’s second anniversary is also coming very soon. The game was launched on August 22, 2025. This means FromSoftware is pulling the same trick Rockstar Games did with GTA 6, announcing the trailer for the new game close to the anniversary of their franchise.
