A new job listing onFromSoftware’s official recruitment page has been spotted by some eagle-eyed Armored Core fans, leading to speculation that either a DLC expansion or a brand-new title is in development at the studio.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubiconis approaching its one-year anniversary next month, but there has been no official word from FromSoftware on a potential DLC since its release. But, with that being said, a data miner did uncover some potential in-game files that point towards a DLC being in the works.
I Hope Elden Ring Is FromSoftware’s Last Open-World Soulsborne Title For A While
FromSoftware needs to ditch the open-world design for a bit.
A data miner on X (formerly Twitter) known asZullie, discovered the following in-game files (viaIGN) last year:
The data miner did note that these files could be in reference to the game’s pre-order bonuses, but also said, “Since it’s only unlocking equipment early instead of providing unique parts, I’m not sure you’re able to actually trigger these messages from it.”
With there already being speculation that a DLC for Armored Core VI is in the works, fans now believe that further evidence has been discovered in the form of a job listing.
While it appears likely that this job listing is for something Armored Core-related, we recommend you take these details with a pinch of salt as there is no specific reference to the franchise anywhere in the job listing. Some users are even speculating that this is a job listing for Armored Core 7, but given the fact that Armored Core VI is less than one year old, it seems highly unlikely.
What is more likely, however, is a direct sequel to Armored Core VI, similar to the franchise’s previous releases. Take Armored Core V, for example. Just one year after its release, FromSoftware launched Armored Core: Verdict Day, which was a direct sequel to Armored Core V but wasn’t a numbered entry in the series.
The studio has often been known to release “.5” versions of Armored Core, so it’s possible that the aforementioned job listing is for an Armored Core VI sequel.
