Fortniteis one of the most successful games out there and has encouraged the gaming community to be competitive. It is common for live service games to host several personalities which includes toxicity and Epic Games is about to put an end to it.

Epic Games will make significant changes regarding the emotes players can use in Fortnite.

Players have access to a wide variety of emotes that they can use before, during, and after a fight which can be deemed as griefing and outright bullying. Epic Games is aware of the issue and will make changes with the next update.

Epic Games Will Put an End to Griefing in Fortnite

Online video games are just a digital playground for people to come and go, but some are far superior in terms of skill which makes them think they are above the rest and can ‘grief’ others who can’t keep up. It has been an old issue where players would emote after eliminating an opponent which is extremely toxic but the developers will finally put the problem to rest with one solution.

NEW: Fortnite will add a “See Confrontational Emotes” setting to the game in tomorrow’s update!

Avatar Aang and the four elements are now available as mythic items in Fortnite.

This is a positive step forward to purge all forms of toxicity and bullying from gaming and ensure a much safer environment for the youth. People tend to forget that live-service multiplayer games do not have a specific age demographic, both adults and kids are all welcomed in the same server and could be influenced or affected by the actions of the other.

A while ago,Fortnitefeatured several overpowered weaponsthat were used by almost everyone and gave them an edge but collectively decided it must be removed for the sake of fairness and balanced competition. Players must also practice resisting making fun of an opponent after eliminating them even without rare or powerful gear to avoid any conflict outside the game.

Others would like to have the community believe that emoting an opponent is good for character development but there is an argument that can be made that the person may just want to have a good time which is what video games are all about after all. Players could lose interest in a game if they are constantly getting bullied and cannot keep up to defend themselves.

Fortnite Will Give Players the Option to Disable Emotes

Confrontational emotes can be seen in a negative light as well, they can be provocative and straight-up aggressive towards fellow players. Certain issues could arise from doing the act and will most likely escalate and lead to more conflict and violence.

Epic Games shared this ambitious and entertaining multiplayer game with the idea to have fun but it is not safe from toxic gaming culture. Epic Games does not need to add a way to see which emotes can be seen as confrontational if only players behave accordingly.

This problem could be easily solved if the majority of the community wouldn’t do it at all and just move on to the next opponent and let the best man win. It is wholesome to see video games take a stand against the issue and look out for the little guys.
