As we’re getting closer and closer to the impossible,Final Fantasy 7 Remakeactually releasing, Square Enix shared some new and gorgeous key visual artworks for the game. The first one features Aerith looking into the world beyond the scope of Midgar, and the second one features Barret and his daughter Marlene. Both artworks can be found in full size below.
We also have official profiles and artwork for the members of Avalanche and the Turks, officially revealing their seiyuu.

Voice acting is taken very seriously in Japanese media. No matter how many years pass, as long as the seiyuu didn’t retire, pass away, or get caught in some scandal, they will definitely reprise their role. Even if they changed agencies and made it big, or became freelance and forgotten in the meanwhile. As such, characters like Reno, who already appeared in pastFinal Fantasy 7related works, most notably theAdvent Childrenmovie, are still being voiced by the same seiyuu in this Remake.
Note that the English promotion of the game only shared official profiles for Reno and Rude so far. However, the Japanese promotion had more details, quotes, and also included profiles for Biggs, Wedge, and Jessie, so I’ve translated them. NewFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeartwork for each character is included as well.

Turks:The Turks are a small group of elite agents, taking care of special missions such as scouting new Soldier members, or guarding VIPs. They also work as an intelligence group and even handle assassinations. Certain activities of the Turks are never made public, hidden by the shadow of the Shinra’s radiance.
“You know how to recognize a professional? They always enjoy the work they do, no matter what.”
Reno, voiced byKeiji Fujiwara. Reno is a member of Shinra’s investigation unit informally known as the Turks. He has an aloof personality, and is often seen with a cynical smile on his face. His battle style is very aggressive, fully using his agility and specialized weaponry.
“Let me pay back the debt owed by my partner.”
Rude, voiced byTaiten Kusunoki.Rude carries no weapons, choosing to use his fists and few words to accomplish his missions for the Turks.
Avalanche:An anti-Shinra group that strives to save the planet. They proclaim Mako energy, which is sucked by the Shinra, is the life of the planet. There are currently multiple factions of Avalanche, and the one in Midgar is made of Barret and his comrades. They’re the most active group fighting against Shinra.
“I won’t let you say we’re a burden”
Biggs, voiced byShuhei Sakaguchi. One of the members of Avalanche. He’s a fast thinker and the main strategist for the group’s activities. He’s also the one who always calms down their hot-headed leader Barret. He’s also a clean freak, he loves taking showers and cleaning.
“I wonder if they’ll have pizza at the Midgar Special”
Wedge, voiced by Takayuki Asai.A member of Avalanche. He has a gentle personality and is in charge of gathering information. He also considers he’s extremely important as the taste tester of new menus at Seventh Heaven. He’s also the mood-maker of the team.
“Being strong and being stupid are two sides of the same coin. I wonder which side you’re on?”
Jessie, voiced bySatomi Moriya.(Hikari Minowa inAikatsu, one of my favorite characters in the series). She takes care of many things such as preparing bombs or counterfeit IDs. She handles all the supplies needed for a mission. She handles all the engineering stuff as well. She also makes and sells water purification machines to gather funds for Avalanche. Lastly, she’s a busybody and weak against pretty boys.
Lastly, new artwork for the Chocobo summon was also shared. To be honest, I think the Chocobo’s face looks a bit jarring.
As a related note, every single Animate shop in Japan is also organizing aFinal Fantasy 7 Remakefair, selling exclusive goods. It’ll last from December 20 to July 17, 2025.
