Gilgamesh is actually a well-known character in the Final Fantasy franchise. He is a warrior and amazing swordsman who was first seen in Final Fantasy 5. During the events of the game, he was one of the main antagonists that you would constantly have to fight before he switched sides in the end.He has been seen in almost every game in the series since, but was not in Final Fantasy 7.His inclusion in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth seems to remedy the exclusion of him in the original games.
How To Reach Gilgamesh
Reaching Gilgamesh is no easy feat in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Here are all the steps you must take in order to unlock the option boss battle with Gilgamesh.
Finding All The Protorelics
Players will quickly learn that he is connected to the Protorelic Phenomenons that are happening around the world. Anytime that you find a new one, Cloud will be transported to Gilgamesh for a brief discussion before being sent back to his real location. There are 6 Protorelics in the game that you will need to find and collect before being able to move forward with finding Gilgamesh. Those Protorelics are found in the following regions:
Defeating All Summons In The Combat Simulator
Defeating Summons in the Combat Simulator is how you unlock new Summons for your characters. There are13 Summons in total, however, you will only need to beat 6 of these in the Combat Simulator. They are the 6 Summons that you unlock viaDivine Intelfound in the 6 different regions. You will need to fight them two at a time. The ones you will need to fight and in what pairing are the following:
Reaching Gilgamesh Island
After completing everything above, Chadley will tell you that he has found a new region out in the ocean called the Merdian Ocean Region. This is the area that contains Gilgamesh Island, where Gilgamesh is. You will need to find the Tiny Bronco, which will take you to this region.
Defeating All Summons Bosses Again
After finally reaching Gilgamesh Island, you have one more task before reaching Gilgamesh. You have to fight all the Summon bosses again, but on the island this time. You will need to fight them two at a time. The ones you will need to fight and in what pairing are the following:
