While playingFinal Fantasy 16, you will come across a ton of side quests that need your attention. Whether you find them naturally, on the map, or via the Hideaway, you will find that a lot of people in Valisthea need Clive’s help.

With so many side quests, it can be hard to tell which ones are worth doing and which ones can wait or even be skipped. Here’s a list of the side quests you need to make sure you do as soon as they are available.
This quest is obtained after completing the Letting Off Steam III quest. It can be obtained by reading a letter from Guate at Clive’s Reading Table in his chambers. The letter is called “Off The Record.” He will tell you he’s having trouble with the ledgers and needs your help. The Hideaway is behind on payments and needs Clive to fix it.

What makes this quest so great is that you will obtain Cid’s Goblet. This can then be found in Clive’s Chambers. What makes this great is thatCid is one of the best characters in the game. His death was absolutely devastating to many players. Obtaining this small item to remember him by is a nice nod to him.
9Blacksmith’s Blues
This quest is obtainable during the Here Be Monsters' main mission. It can be obtained by speaking to August in the Hideaway. He will tell you that Blackthorne has been acting off lately, and he needs you to figure out why. Speaking to him, you’ll learn it is because he missed out on studying a one-of-a-kind piece of armor.
This quest is one that you certainly don’t want to miss because it is part of a series. After each quest, you will unlock certain items that can be crafted at the forge. In order to move on to the next quest in the Blacksmith’s Blues quest line, you will need to complete this quest.
8Blacksmith’s Blues II
This quest is obtained after completing the Letting Off Steam III quest. you may obtain it by reading a letter sent to Clive from August entitled “About Blackthorne.” This can be done via the Reading Table in Clive’s Chambers. Blackthorne will once again need Clive to fetch him something.
This quest is the second quest in the Blacksmith’s Blues quest line. Like the one before it, completing it will give you acraftable piece of armorthat is more than likely better than what you have. You can craft the Excalibur Sword after completing the quest. This does 268 Damage and Stagger.

7Blacksmith’s Blues III
This quest is unlocked after the A Song of Hope quest in the main quest line. Speaking to August in The Mess of the Hideaway will start the quest. He tells you that, once again, Blackthorne needs your help with something important.
This is the third quest of the Blacksmith’s Blues quest line. You will obtain the required draft to create Ouroboros, a legendary belt that is one of the best in the game. It has a Defense of 95 and an HP of 32. You do not want to miss out on this.

6Blacksmith’s Blues IV
This quest can be obtained during the Across the Narrow quest during the main quest line in the game. You can start it by speaking to August in The Mess within the Hideaway. He will tell you that you need to deal with the Akashic in Dravozd. However, he doesn’t want Blackthorne to know about it just yet.

This is the final quest in the Blacksmith’s Blues quest line. It also is the one that gives the best reward. After finishing the quest, you can craft the Gotterdammerung, the best weapon in the game (minus theUltimaweapon inNew Game Plus). It does 375 Damage and Stagger.
5The Root Of The Problem
This quest is obtainable during the After The Storm main quest. To start, head to The Backyard of the Hideaway. Once there, speak to Nigel. He needs you to go find him some Morganbeard Seeds so that he can begin growing the Morganbeard plant in the garden.
This quest is one you want to pick up as soon as possible. Once you complete it, you will obtain the Morganbeard Extract. This item will increase the potency of all your potions. For potions that increase Defense or Damage, you will gain additional time. This is a must for anyone playing the game.
4Please Sir, Can I Have Some Morbol
This quest is obtainable during the quest A Song of Hope during the main storyline. Once again, you will need to visit Nigel in The Backyard of the Hideaway. He will tell you that he needs some Morbol Vines and will ask you to hunt down the elusive Morbol known as Carrot. You can find more information on theHunt Board.
This quest needs to be completed after The Root of the Problem quest. Once completed, you will obtain the Invigorated Morganbeard Extract. This will increase your potion potency even more and cause timed potions to last even longer.
3Weird Science
Once you finish the Letting Off Steam III main quest, you can obtain this quest. You’ll need to speak to Owain, an engineer found in Mid’s Dungeon. While speaking to him, he will tell you that he needs you to hunt down theBomb King, a Notorious Mark on the Hunt Board.
The reward for this quest makes this worthwhile. Once completed, you will obtain the Treated Potion Satchel. This item will allow you toincrease your potion capacity by one. It will work on all potions you have, and it isn’t limited to just health potions.
2Even Weirder Science
This quest is obtained during the Across the Narrow main quest. It is also required that you complete the Weird Science quest. To start this one, speak to Owain in Mid’s Dungeon. He will send you looking for three spherical echoes; one will be in Lostplume, one in Advent, and one in Silent Sough.
This quest is the final quest that allows you to increase your potion capacity. You will obtain the item Expanded Potion Satchel for completing the quest. Once again, this increases your potion capacity by one. It will work on all potions you have.
1The White-Winged Wonder
The best quest in the game is called The White-Winged Wonder. It can be obtained during the Gathering The Storm quest right after completingDrake’s Head. To start the quest, head to Martha’s Rest and speak to Rowan, Traveling Trader. He will ask you to save some Chocobos from poachers.
This is the quest that grants youAmbrosia, the Chocobo mount. This is the only way to obtain a mount, and once you do it, you will be so thankful that you did. The quest is extremely short and can be completed quickly. Once done, all you need to do is hold R3 to summon your mount anywhere outside of town. This is the best quest available.
