In many ways, Summer Heat looks like a new and potentially improved version of Futties. It’s not quite a one-for-one swap, but it does let players vote on their favorite players of the year who will then get their own SBC. If your chosen player doesn’t win, you can still expect to see their card show up in drafts.

EA is also releasing tons of old special cards back into packs. These “Best of” releases will happen in three batches. The first one runs from June 17 to July 3. If history repeats itself, the second batch will include cards from the second half of the game cycle. Then, the third will be a collection of the other two collections. Basically, expect prices on most of the top-tier specials to crash in the coming weeks.

But wait, there’s more! Fan-favorite SBC and Objective players are getting boosted versions added into the game. Currently, players can earn a 93-rated Ferland Mendy through objectives and a 93-rated Tanguy Ndombele through SBCs. Expect to see several top-class players added throughout the promo.

FIFA 20is also adding something called Summer Showdown. Every week, the team is highlighting one real-world match with SBCs. Whichever players' team wins will give that player a +3 overall boost to their rating. It sounds fun. Hopefully, they deliver.

Finally, they’re also giving players packs for “loyalty” based on how many days you’ve logged into the game. And, Weekend League rewards are getting juiced with special cards being added from every past promo.

Look, I know I’m usually pretty down onFIFAin this space, so take this with a grain of salt; however, this just seems like they’re putting out great content right before the next game is announced. If you’d just spent months feeling unsatisfied withFIFA 20, you probably wouldn’t care as much about the next version of the game. Now, there’s content that’s going to make many players happy right before they announceFIFA 21. Maybe it’s a coincidence. But, this is EA Sports we’re talking about.

If you haven’t checked outFIFA 20yet, this is a good time to hop in. The rewards will make it easy to get a team you may compete with. And prices are only going to go down. That said, remember they’re announcingFIFA 21tomorrow. So,FIFA 20is on its last legs.

FIFA 20is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. You can technically get it on Nintendo Switch, but please don’t waste your money.
