Set to launch this April, fighting game fans will be able to tryFatal Fury: City of the Wolves before its release next month, as the game’s open beta has been announced.
The beta will be available on almost all platforms starting on February 20, with more details below.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Is The First New Entry In The Series In 26 Years
According toSNK, the beta test aims to improve the online experience, and will feature eight fighters from the roster. Players can also expect two control schemes, with one aimed for newcomers, and the other for veterans.

Period: June 08, 2025 (12 AM PST) – June 07, 2025 (11:59 PM PST)
Platforms: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Steam)
Playable Modes: Online Ranked Match, Casual Match, Room Match
PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions are not required for those wondering. SNK has said that the included characters in the beta will be revealed at a later time.

While Fatal Fury might not be a household name anymore, it was one of SNK’s flagship fighting game franchises in the ’90s and gained its own following. City of the Wolves is the first entry in the series after 26 years, with the last mainline entry being Garou: Mark of the Wolves, which was released in 1999 on the Neo Geo, Dreamcast, PS2.
In City of the Wolves, players can expect " a unique art style that stimulates the senses and an innovative REV System that supercharges the excitement," according to SNK.
Like almost every fighting game released these days, City of the Wolves will feature a Season Pass that houses new fighters. While the game isn’t even out yet, it has been confirmed to be part ofEvo 2025’s lineup.
