Going off of just peak player count,Farming Simulator 22has had a hugely successful launch and was even able to beat outApex Legends,Halo Infinite,Battlefield 2042and more.
The series has been going ever since the first release back in 2008, and although a farming simulator might not be everyone’s cup of tea, this year’s entry has sent the franchise soaring to heights never seen before.
Farming Simulator 22Hits Insane Concurrent Player Count On Steam
As spotted by a user onResetEra, on Monday, November 22nd, the day of the game’s release,Farming Simulator 22soared to over 105,000 concurrent players on Steam alone.
That impressive number put it at number five on the ‘top games by current player count’ list on Steam, beating outApex Legends, PUBG: Battlegrounds, Rust, Halo Infinite, and plenty more. Of course, it still had some way to beat outDota 2andCS: GO, which peaked at over 600,000 and 770,000 players respectively.
The eagle-eyed ResetEra users also noted that the peak player count forFarming Simulator 22was almost as much as all 3 previous entries combined.Farming Simulator 19previously peaked at almost 60,000 players back in 2018.
Unfortunately, the high number of players didn’t last long. At the time of writing (November 25th),Farming Simulator 22is hovering around the fifteenth position in terms of top games by player count, peaking at 96,000 players. Although it has dropped from the number 5 position, it’s still beating out the likes ofBattlefield 2042which was one of the most anticipated titles of the year, and only peaked at 54,000 players.
You don’t need to take the concurrent player count to see how lovedFarming Simulator 22is. The newly release sim currently has an impressive score of 81 onMetacritic, withPC Invasionstating that the new entry “seeks to diversify the series with a wealth of critical new gameplay features”.
Farming Simulator 22is available now for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
