Fans ofMonster Hunterwill find some familiarity inExoprimal’s Murasame. This Exosuit focuses on countering attacks from dinosaurs, striking back with a devastating blow that also empowers his sword. A well-piloted, well-built Murasame is a valuable asset to almost any team in a majority of game modes.

Murasame Overview
Weaknesses
Murasame is atank that specializes in taking hitsfor his team by taunting enemies thenprotecting himself with Vajra Counter. A successful Vajra Counter will put Murasame intoRasetsu Stance, where his sword will glow white and deal ~52% more damage. In this state, Murasame is able to help his team clear waves faster by slashing through waves of enemies or distracting bosses.
Its Overdrive, Meikyo Shisui, is also one of the most efficient ways to insta-kill enemy Exofighters andenemy Dominators alike. This makes it a useful tank to have when high damage and large amounts of unending crowd control are necessary. In PvP, Murasame can close the gap and be an absolute pain for the enemy team to remove because of Vajra Counter’s durability and Strafe Hook’s mobility.

This is a common misunderstanding for newer Murasames, butdo not use Vajra Counter in the early waves of small raptors. Most of the time, your team is more than capable of clearing that wave without the need for you to be in Rasetsu Stance. Help your team clear the wave faster with your attacks and use Vajra Counter when you’re alone or when you’re fighting a large dinosaur.
However,if your team needs to hold a static position for a long period of time, or if your sight lines with the enemy team are extremely long, then Murasame will quickly become a far less useful Exosuit to play.In situations like that, choosing Kriegeror Roadblock may be a better asset to your team than Murasame will be since they can block incoming damage as your team moves into the position they need to be in.

Flexible Murasame Build
Rasetsu Step
Tiger Strafe
This is a flexible build that should work well in almost every scenario. The idea behind it is to keep Rasetsu Stance up as often as possible so you can blend through tough dinosaurs and bosses with ease.Rasetsu Step helps keep Rasetsu Stance up for longer and increases your damage by letting you swing faster. Tiger Strafe brings both more mobility and additional burst damage while in Rasetsu Stance.
Steadfast is core part to both builds because it can counter dinosaurs and, more importantly, it helps refresh how long you’re in Rasetsu Stance.Since Rasetsu Stance with Rasetsu Step will last 24 seconds and Steadfast Vajra Counter’s cooldown is 8 seconds, you’ll get 2 to 3 Vajra Counter attempts before Rasetsu Step wears off.Without Steadfast, you’ll most likely get a single Vajra Counter attempt before losing Rasetsu Step.

Your choice of Rig is flexible here.Cannon is recommended to clear out enemies you can’t reach like Pteranodons or special Neosaurs that spawn far away from you. In PvP,the Cannon is the perfect tool to gun down fleeing enemies that Murasame would struggle to catch otherwise.Alternatively, Catapult is useful to make the most of Rasetsu Stance by quickly closing gaps and throwing you into the action as fast as possible. .
Counter-Heavy Murasame Build
Dragon Strafe/Tiger Strafe/Rig Loader
Cannon/Catapult/Shield
Murasames that want to focus on large dinosaur slaying will want to use this build. With this build, you’ll want to hunt after large dinosaurs, taunt them toward yourself, and then counter their attacks. If your counter is on cooldown, then Dragon Strafe or your Rig can be used to stall for time so Vajra Counter can come back in time for the next big attack.
Since Counters are the main source of this build’s damage, Radiance and Steadfast are both core components to making this build work well.Radiance is used to increase Vajra Counter’s damage, while Steadfast reduces Vajra Counter’s cooldown time. These two modules will ensure you have a better chance of countering anything large dinosaurs can throw at you and maximizing the damage from each counter.

The biggest problem with this build is figuring out what to do when Vajra Counter is on cooldown. In total, you’ll need to stall for 8 seconds. The best thing to do is see how many attacks you may fit in during that time and use smart positioning to stay away from a large dinosaur’s dangerous attacks. However, this isn’t going to always be an option.Tiger Strafe and Dragon Strafe can be used to vertically leap into the air to stall for time. The Shield Rig is also a wonderful tool to buy more time while allowing you to keep swinging. With Rig Loader, you can get your Shield Rig back even faster by reducing it to only an 11-second cooldown.

Build Your Own Murasame: Module Choices
The beauty of Exoprimal’s module system is how easy you can tailor each Exosuit to your tastes. If you plan on creating your own Murasame build, here are the considerations for each slot.
Murasame Slot 1
The damage buff from Radiance is best used against large dinosaurs since it’s only a 40 damage increase against Exofighters and a 150 damage increase against large dinosaurs. This makes it a bigger burst of damage against attacking large dinosaurs compared to Rasetsu Step. However, Rasetsu step with Tiger Strafe will lead to more damage in the long term if you have an open window on a boss.
Another consideration for this first slot is what your plan is for PvP.Radiance is only useful against dinosaurs or enemies that can’t help but keep hitting youlike Krieger. You’ll rarely land the counter against smarter enemies who will stop hitting you before the Counter fills. In comparison, Rasetsu Step gives Murasame more time in Rasetsu Stance for the few Vajra Counters it gets in the PvP section. That extended time allows Murasame to hunt down other players and shred them with Tasetsu Step’s attack speed increase.
Murasame Slot 2
Even if you’re not running Radiance,Rasetsu Stance’s reliance on a successful Vajra Counter makes Steadfast an amazing module to have in most builds.Since Rasetsu Stance lasts 20 seconds, and the cooldown to Vajra Counter is 14 seconds, without the Steadfast module you’ll have ~6 seconds to pull off another counter before Rasetsu Stance wears off.In comparison, Steadfast allows you to attempt two Vajra Counter’s before leaving Rasetsu Stance, making it much easier to stay in that empowered stance than without the Steadfast module.
In comparison,Decimation is perfect for Murasame builds looking for a good PvP option.Since a successful Vajra Counter will be more rare against good players, adding more damage to Crescent Moon becomes a better alternative because it bumps its damage up to 135 [195] against enemy players. This allows Murasame to burst enemy Exofighters down at a frightening rate.
Crescent Moon’s range helps cut down enemy players when they flee from you.
Murasame Slot 3
This slot is the most flexible out of Murasame’s options. Its two unique modules are Tiger Strafe and Dragon Strafe, which both buff Hook Strafe. Tiger Strafe increases the number of uses to 2, which helps both Murasame’s mobility and its overall damage against dinosaurs (it’s tricky to catch players with it). Dragon Strafe gives Strafe Hook more defense and knockback resistance, making it a better escape tool.
Both of these options are fantastic choices, with Tiger Strafe being the better of the two since it helps him clear waves out faster. However,it’s also a valid idea to swap in a different module like Hi-Xol compression or Rig Loader in their place.Hi-Xol Compression gives allows Murasame to use its Overdrive sooner so you can delete a large dinosaur early to get your team ahead during the race, then get it back in time for the final section where Murasame’s Overdrive is necessary to deal with the enemy Dominator.
Dragon Strafealso gives you aharder to interrupt Falling Attack. While this can be useful, you normally don’t want to be using this to fly into an enemy’s attack since you can just walk up and counter it instead.
