Having a lively chat viaLooper, Tom Felton, and Helena Bonham Carter turned their conversation into a wand-erful moment whenFelton revealed his cheeky attemptto steal his wand from the set. Shocked to learn about the actor’s mischief for a stick of prop, Carter sarcastically reminded Felton that his wizarding tools were mere props, not magical artifacts.
I was definitely trying to steal my wand.Felton shared.
You know they don’t work, Tom.Carter quipped.
Meanwhile, Tom Felton, never being the one to miss an opportunity for a laugh, responded with his share of sarcasm and a twinkle in his eye. Responding to Helena Bonham Carter’s remarks with utmost “fake” innocence that he has been assured, with enough practice his wand can do real magic, Felton quickly trailed off, as he was left in peals of laughter, over his overacting.
Well, I’ve been assured that in time, with enough practice… Felton trailed off laughing.

While the sense of imagination that persistence could indeed transform a prop into a real wand, cracked Tom Felton, it surprisingly reminded Helena Bonham Carter of a scary incident, while filmingHarry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Helena Bonham Carter’s Tale of Scary Wand-ering onHarry PotterSet
Taking their discussion about wands to the next level, rather than just sticking to a bit of on-set mischief,Helena Bonham Cartershared a tale that was straight out of a prankster’s playbook. According to Carter, during the filming of the particularly explosive scene at Hagrid’s hut, inHalf-Blood Prince, the actress noted how the crew decided to have a bit of fun at her expense.

Reflecting on how she was convinced to believe that her wand could actually blow things up, Helena Bonham Carter noted that the crew had told her that her wand had magical properties that would set off a grand explosion whenshe performed her spell. But the most shocking part of it was that Carter actually bought the story and even got scared after they blew up Hagrid’s hut.
Except one time it did happen, and they said, ‘ok this time you’re gonna blow up Hogwarts’. And they said, ‘so we’re gonna take your cue, when you do your spell, it will blow up’. And I was actually really surprised and scared by my own reaction because I thought, ‘Wow’.

So it seems, Helena Bonham Carter actually bought the crew’s prank and for a brief moment, the line between fiction and reality blurred for the actress as sheenvisioned herself as the true sorceressof Hogwarts. But we all know that sadly, in reality, the crew’s prank was nothing more than a well-timed explosion effect. However, there’s no denying that Carter was both amused and slightly unnerved by her act.
