Apeks has secured a spot at the ongoing PGL Majors Copenhagen 2024. The tournament is the first-everCounter-Strike 2Major championship and is being held in Copenhagen, Denmark. The path to PGL Copenhagen Major started with the 2024 qualifiers in Europe, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific. Apeks participated in the qualifiers through Blast Paris Major 2023.

Apeks will look to continue their successful run after having qualified for yet another Major.

The Norwegian esports organization, Apeks, beat teams over two rounds in the Paris Major, and now after four rounds in PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR B, Apeks have officially qualified for the main event. The PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 main event will begin on the 17th of March.

Apeks are Ecstatic After Securing a Spot at PGL Majors 2024

Apeks finished 3rd in the Challengers Stage at the Blast Paris Major 2023 and then a further 6th in the Legends Stage in the same event to qualify for the Copenhagen Major 2024. The team has now secured theirspotafter a nail-biting 2-1 win over Ecstatic.

Ecstatic also still has a chance at qualifying, as the team has another opportunity tomorrow. The Copenhagen Major 2024 is being held in Denmark and 16 teams in total vied for a place at the event. MOUZ and Cloud9 top the table with a clean, 3-0 win, while Team Vitality and Team Spirit join Apeks for third, fourth, and fifth position respectively with a 3-1 scoreline.

Apeks defeated OG 13-5 in Round 1 before losing 13-10 to Cloud9 in Round 2. The next two rounds were more favorable for the Norwegian team as they defeated Monte 13-5 in Round 3 before defeating Ecstatic in Round 4. Ecstatic, on the other hand, will face off against Guild Eagles in Round 5.

The team had posted on X about the qualification for the first major inCS2and received well-wishes from a fellowCS2team, Heroic. Several fans also responded congratulating the team for the feat.

Half-a-Million Prize Money Await Winners of the Majors

The Norwegian esports team will now be looking to go all the way for the win and grab the massive prize money as first-time qualifiers. The Copenhagen main event kicks off on the 17th of March with the Opening Stage, and then an Elimination Stage, which will feature a total of 24 teams competing in a 16-team Swiss System format.

Eight teams will look to qualify for the Playoff Stage, which will be a Single-Elimination bracket. The teams facing each other will be seeded using the final Elimination Stage ranking and will face each other in a Best-of-3 format. The winning team will walk away with a $500,000 prize money and a direct qualification to the BLAST Premier World Final later this year.

The second-placed team will win $170,000, while $80,000 will be given to the 3rd and 4th ranked teams in the end. The rest of the teams will earn themselves $45,000. Apart fromCS2, the esports team also has a presence inVALORANTandFortnite. It will be a good run to see just how far the debut qualifiers go at the Copenhagen Major this year.

Winners of the Copenhagen Majors will also qualify for the BLAST Premier World Final later this year.
