John Cena is one of the prime attractions of the WWERoyal Rumble, which is set to be held on Saturday. The winner of last year, Cody Rhodes, won’t be competing in this year’s event, improving chances for Cena, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre. Reigns last entered aRoyal Rumblematch in 2020 and his statistics in the event provide an easy way for Cena.

Out of his previous six entries in the event, Reigns won only one time in 2015. Interestingly, the winners in all the rest of his appearances managed to beat him personally to win the competition. If Cena manages to beat Reigns in the upcoming event, he has a good luck charm to win theRoyal Rumble.

Is beating Roman Reigns the easiest way for John Cena to win the WWERoyal Rumble?

John Cenalooks to win the WWERoyal Rumbletitle in what appears to behis farewell year with the company. Cena previously won the title twice in 2008 and 2013. A win in 2025 could mean that he could level with Stone Cold Steve Austin’s record of mostRoyal Rumbletitles.

While the champion Cody Rhodes sits out this year’s event, Cena still has some pretty tough competition to beat. Cena will once again faceRoman ReignsafterWrestleMania 40, where he helped Rhodes beat the Tribal Chief. The statistics of the event in the previous years show that Cena has a good chance at the title if he can beat Reigns (via All Rumble Stats).

Reigns has appeared in sixRoyal Rumblematches. Out of the six, he was the winner once, runner-up four times, and earned third place one time. In his debut in the event in 2014, Batista took him out to win the competition. In the 2015 event, Reigns beat Rusev to win the title.

In his last appearance in 2020, Reigns lost to the winner Drew McIntyre. While it might be a coincidence, beating Reigns to win theRoyal Rumblewould be the best farewell for Cena.

Speaking on hisNotsam Wrestlingpodcast, Roberts shared that if Cena wins the title, he will not compete in theElimination Chambermatch to be held in March.
