The announcement comes as part of a slew of confirmations, with the next 10 months set to bring seven major releases. Five of them are your usual periodic sports releases, but the big stars of the presentation areBattlefield6 andSkate4.
According tothe webcast and the documentput out by EA, the gaming giant will have both games out before March 2026.For most Battlefield fans, this is the third (and hopefully final) release date update by EA.
EA & Ubisoft Have One Last Shot To Dethrone Call Of Duty
These major publishers have one last shot at dethroning Activision.
Back in February, EA had announced plans to have the next Battlefield titleout before April 2026. The celebrations lasted less than 24 hours, as CEO Andrew Wilson came on to saythe date was still up in the air.
The main reason for the reluctance was avoiding dropping too close to a major competitor. Now, while Wilson didn’t name names specifically, it was clear that the executive was talking aboutGrand Theft Auto 6.
With that in mind,it comes as no surprise that EA finally felt at peace to commit to a release dateless than a week after Rockstar announced thatGTA 6 would not be coming out in 2025.
The Great Release Date Scramble
Pending some cataclysmic event,Battlefield and Skate 4 are now set to come out before Rockstar’s forever delayed title. The only thing that’s missing is aHalf-Life3 rumor that isn’t a bust.
EA is also bringing aboutF1 25on May 30th, and Q2 2026, to be followed shortly by the 2026 editions of College Football, Madden, NHL, and not-FIFA (orFC 26for friends and family).
The expectation is that other developers and publishers that had been holding out for GTA 6 will start committing to release dates now that they know what period to avoid.
This could well turn into a situation where the remaining months of 2025 are oversaturated. Titles like ARC Raiders, The Outer Worlds 2 and Subnautica 2 for example are still pending a release date, but most fans are convinced 2025 is now inevitable.
