NPCs can be attacked, they can die, and if they aren’t brought back quickly, they’ll stay dead for your entire playthrough. Fortunately, we can tell you how to save NPCs that are truly important to you.
How To Resurrect NPCs
In order to revive a dead character, you’ll need to have access to the body. While bodies won’t decay, they will be carried off to a morgue.So, if NPCs die in an attack on a town or city, you’ll have a limited amount of time to bring them back to life.
If you want to resurrect a dead NPC, you need to get close to the body.If you have a Wakestone in your inventory, you’ll be prompted to revive the dead NPC.After a brief animation, the character will come back to life as good as new.
Wakestones can be acquired whole, but you’re most likely to find Wakestone Shards on your adventures.If you collect 3 Wakestone Shards, they will automatically combine to create 1 Wakestone.While this is a wonderful option when NPCs important to you die, Wakestone Shards and Wakestones are exceedingly rare. Be sure to conserve this resource for when you absolutely need it. If you don’t, someone important to your playthrough may be gone forever.
There is an achievement for bringing at least one NPC back from the dead.
