Dragon Ball: The Breakersis a multiplayer game where seven survivors attempt to outwit and out-survive a maniacal raider who just happens to be a major villain from the Dragon Ball series. It’s a peculiar take on the Dragon Ball setting, taking liberties with their time travel antics and using them to create a game with a rather wacky premise.

Whether you’re all playing survivors or someone is playing the raider, the experience should be a fun one if you have enough people. If you don’t have enough people, you might end up stuck in matchmaking for quite some time, which was our experience. Grouping up is a little tricky, so here is what you’ll need to do to link up with your friends.

One thing worth noting is that this game does not support crossplay or voice chat. If you’re looking to communicate any of the information we’re going to share with you, you’ll need to find your own chatroom situation for your group of friends. With matchmaking limited to the platform you’re playing on, there’s no real consistency with how long it takes for someone to find a match. Your wait time on a Switch could be very different from your wait time on a PC.

Invite A Friend

While in the Online Match Waiting Room, you may also select the room menu, seen again on the right side of the screen. In the room menu is the option to invite a friend. So, if you’re already friends with someone on your platform, you can navigate to this option and send them an invite directly, making the whole room key thing unnecessary.

Join A Room

If you have a room code from a friend and you’re looking to join a room, you’ll want to go to the Game Mode Selection screen. On the right side of the screen, you’ll see the Join Room (Key Input) prompt waiting for you to jump in and use that room code. Input the room code, and you should join the same waiting room as your friend.

There you have it. That’s how you join your friends in Dragon Ball: The Breakers as long as you’re playing on the same platform. While it isn’t the most intuitive system, it is fairly straightforward once you know what to do. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t throw you into a shared room while you wait for matchmaking, so you’ll have to wait until the match starts to see your friends and their customized characters. Jump in and see what this wild game has to offer.
