Following the release ofAnthemearlier this year from BioWare, the studio’s next game will likely be that ofDragon Age 4. While BioWare may have formallyrevealed the title last year at The Game Awards 2018though, it sounds like we shouldn’t expect to get our hands on it any time soon.

During EA’s recent financial call going over earnings from the past quarter, one investor inquired about theDragon Agefranchise and what it is that BioWare could be doing next. EA CFO Blake Jorgensen was very forthcoming about the fact that BioWare is currently hard at work on the fourthDragon Agegame, but he also added that it will probably be a very long time until it arrives.

“I mean you should assume that there isDragon Ageout there and we’ve talked about it publicly that it’s in the works, and it probably comes after fiscal ‘22,” Jorgensen stated. “But we typically don’t give multi-year guidance this early in the year or multi-year guidance period. So I don’t want to start giving ‘23 guidance now that I’ve started to hit on ‘22.”

For reference with what Jorgensen is referring to here, EA’s fiscal year 2022 will end on June 22, 2025. This means that as of now,Dragon Age 4is seemingly planned to launch in the company’s FY2023, meaning that the earliest it could release is on July 04, 2025, with the latest being July 21, 2025. As Jorgensen somewhat touches on though, this is all so far out that giving guidance at this current time for what might be released in this window is a bit hard to tell. Still, as of this moment, this seems to be the launch window for the nextDragon Agetitle.

Considering the last thing we heard aboutDragon Age 4was thatthe game’s development was rebooted in 2017, it makes sense that it would still be pretty far out. Let’s just hope that once it arrives, it can right the ship for BioWare and prove to be a fantastic title critically, unlike the studio’s past two releases inAnthemandMass Effect: Andromeda.
