Updated On November 1st, 2023, By Joshua Leeds:Diablo 4 is all about grinding and making your character as powerful as possible. With the new open world format for the game, it’s important to understand how level scaling will effect exploration. This article has been updated to include additional links and details about those trying to fully explore the world.

Is There Level Scaling In Diablo 4?
Yes! Diablo 4 has level scalingin both single and multiplayer settings. In single-player,all the monsters of the world will scale to your current level, allowing you to travel aroundand properly fight the monsters in any area. While exploring theopen worldthere will be occasional monsters that scale slightly below your level, and often won’t be noticeable in combat. Aftercompleting the main campaign, later characters mayexplore the worldwithout any boundaries, as all the monsters you face will scale to your level.
Inmultiplayer situations, all the monsters in the world will scale equally between all party members,no matter the gap in level. It’s easier to think of each monster not having a specific level. Instead, they’re dealing and taking damage scaled properly to whichever player is attacking them. Both alevel 10 and level 30 player can fight the same bossin the same party. They’ll bothfind it to be equally challenging while alsoearning gear and itemsthat scale to their character’s level. Higher-level characters will have more abilities and tricks to use that will make them seem stronger, but even theflashiest of gearwill be appropriately scaled so as not to dominatea lower-level friend’s world.
