In apostby well-regarded dataminer DataMineARPG, the user revealed they found evidence for the existence of a World Tier 5 difficulty mode in the files ofDiablo 4.
Of course, all unconfirmed information like this should be taken with a grain of salt, as even if the claims of the datamine are 100% correct, it could be these game files were added during development for a potential idea that was later canceled, and the files were simply never removed.

DataMineARPG found a menu graphic for a World Tier 5 difficulty mode, which looks exactly as you’d expect, the same as the other world tier graphics but with a Roman numeral V. DataMineARPG also claims they found a marker placeholder, which they believe points to the Capstone Dungeon that will unlock the eventual World Tier 5 difficulty for Diablo 4 players. This Capstone Dungeon is allegedly set in Fractured Peaks.
However, DataMineARPG states that they found no information regarding what bonuses playing in this difficulty will net you. For context, the current highest World Tier (World Tier 4, titled Torment) offers a 200% XP bonus, and its enemies can drop Ancestral Items, which are currently the strongest items in the game.
There was also, unfortunately, no information found regardingwhenthis World Tier will release. Diablo 4 has been fully out for less than a week, so it’s likely that most of its players are still making their way through the main campaign. However, there are a handful of particularly enthusiastic Diablo players who are already itching to get their hands on some new content, and for these players, the sooner this World Tier comes out, the better.
In an interview withKinda Funny, Diablo GM Rod Fergusson stated that the team atBlizzardis now, more than ever before, treating the series like a live service and that they’re already working on the game’s first two expansions. Though the release is probably not coming anytime soon (again, the game just came out), it makes sense to assume that this next World Tier is being saved for one of these expansions.
